Integrative psychiatry is a whole-person approach to mental health care that blends conventional psychiatric treatment with complementary strategies such as nutrition, lifestyle support, supplements, botanicals, and biomarker-informed care.
At Aurelia, this approach is used to create thoughtful, personalized treatment plans for professionals seeking a more comprehensive path to emotional wellness.
-
Complementary treatment refers to supportive therapies that may be used alongside traditional psychiatric care.
At Aurelia, this may include vitamins, supplements, botanicals, adaptogens, nutraceuticals, and lifestyle-based recommendations when appropriate, all thoughtfully integrated into your treatment plan.
-
Pharmacogenetic testing can offer insight into how your body may respond to certain psychiatric medications. All completed with a at home cheek swab. When appropriate, Aurelia may use this information to support more personalized treatment planning. It is highly recommended that this testing is completed to produce a highly individualized treatment plan based on your genetic makeup.
-
Yes. Medication management is available when it is clinically indicated, but it is never the default. My goal is to understand the root of what you are experiencing, not simply to manage symptoms on the surface. That means looking at your lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, stress load, and biological factors alongside your symptoms and history. When medication is the right tool, it is prescribed thoughtfully and with intention. When the answers are found elsewhere, we go there instead.
-
Yes. Basic lab work is required when needed to help ensure medications can be prescribed and tolerated safely. Aurelia may also recommend additional lab work or genetic testing in some cases to better understand factors affecting mood, anxiety, energy, or focus and to help guide more personalized treatment.
-
Aurelia is a self-pay practice and does not accept insurance. This allows for a more personalized and thoughtful approach to care, including longer appointments, greater privacy, and treatment that is not limited by insurance-based restrictions. A superbill can be provided upon request for those seeking possible out-of-network reimbursement. If you would like support understanding how your superbill may be submitted and processed on your behalf, please ask.
-
Aurelia accepts all major credit and debit cards, as well as HSA and FSA cards.
HSA/FSA cards can be used just like a regular debit or credit card at checkout.
-
Medication at Aurelia is a tool, not a default, and the goal is always to use it for as long as it serves you and reassess when it no longer needs to. The process is always individualized, guided by your safety, progress and your full clinical picture.
